Basics:

  • The history of Handwriting Analysis
  • What handwriting does and does not reveal
  • What the direction of writing indicates
  • The different zones of handwriting
  • How to determine how strong a trait is in a persons character

  • Basic terms to know

Emotions:

  • Emotional/Logical Responsiveness- Learn how expressive a person is with their emotions and how long they will express their emotional state; there are several degrees of how emotional/logical a person can be.
  • Learn how to determine if 2 people can understand and relate to one another by knowing their emotional/logical outlay.
  • Temper- A person who has this in their writing would be inclined to handle stressful situations in a hostile manner. (Also checking their Emotional Responsiveness will reveal how long their temper will last.)
  • Depth of Emotions- Learn the varying degrees of how strong a person feels their emotions, what they all mean and how it affects every part of the person's personality.

Thinking patterns:

  • Mode of Thinking- Find how to see if someone is optimistic, pessimistic, flexible, has perfectionist tendencies, or if they are highly erratic in their thinking patterns and behavior.
  • Comprehensive/Cumulative Thinking- Learn what letters reveal how quick or slow a persons mind processes information, how quick or slow they learn, and common characteristics of the different styles of thinking.
  • Combined Thinking Patterns- Find out what it means if someone shows both quick and slow thinking in the same letter.
  • Analytical- Learn how to find if someone is analytical in their thinking process and if they may over analyze situations
  • Fluidity of Thinking- How to find if someone is "fluid" in their thinking; this means that a person can write, speak, and communicate in a fluid fashion without hesitation.

Skills:

  • Organizational Skills- Learn how well organized the writer is or if they are better at the "planning" of or the "doing" when it comes to organization
  • Listening Skills- Is the writer a good listener or do they have selective listening skills
  • Manual Dexterity- Learn how to find if someone is "good with their hands" such as for building things, fixing things, etc.
  • Self-Control- Shows if the writer is controlling "bad" habits and/or traits in their personality
  • Honesty- Is the writer blunt, or do they have self-deceit, or are they secretive, or deceitful
  • Talkative- How open is the writer in communicating with others

Social Interaction:

  • Social Ability- How trusting the writer is with other people; how open they are to new friendships
  • Generosity- Giving of self; not necessarily about giving of money
  • Sarcasm- A writer who has this tends to express their selves with cutting and sharp-tongued remarks
  • Dominating/Domineering- Does the writer have the need to be authoritative and tell people what to do or are they whiny in their convictions 
  • Caution- Is the writer cautious with other people
  • Diplomacy- This shows if the writer has the ability to tell things in a non-offensive way. (Great for sales or other careers that require diplomacy.)

Focus:

  • Concentration/Focus- How focused is the writer and how does affect them, their surroundings, their work, and their relationships 
  • Area of Focus- What area of life is the writer more focused on; thoughts/ideas/beliefs, daily life, work/sex/physical activity, or are they balanced 
  • Attention to Details- How detailed a person is will tell you if you need to be detailed with them or if they only want to focus on "the big picture" and it also affects their memory and more
  • Confusion of Thoughts- When this shows in a person's handwriting, it tells that they have too much going on in their life to keep up with everything and may have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time
  • Willpower- How likely is the writer to start and complete tasks they need to do 

Problem Areas:

  • Defiance- Wanting to resist authority and/or do the opposite of what they are told 
  • Argumentative- A person who shows this trait likes to argue just for the sake of having an argument
  • Self-Centered- When you find this trait in a person's handwriting, it shows that they are concerned more about their own needs than others
  • Guilt- The writer acts out in ways to provoke people in order for them to receive the "punishment" they feel they deserve for their guilt
  • Resentment- Unresolved anger which causes the writer to be difficult to be around (This trait can lead to disease)
  • Need for a Challenge- Finding this trait signifies that the writer needs to have challenges in their life or they will easily get bored. This carries into every area of their life including relationships, work, etc.
  • Emotional Outbursts- When you find this in a person's handwriting, you can expect the writer to "explode" their emotions out of nowhere
  • Maniac d's- An uncommonly found trait that is indicative of someone who can lose all emotional control and could be physically harmful
  • Physical Frustration- Not being satisfied sexually and/or with their work or chosen career 

Fears:

  • Jealousy- Fear of losing the love of someone they hold dear
  • Sensitive to Criticism- How sensitive is the writer to criticism from others. There are varying degrees of sensitiveness that show in varying ways
  • Self-Consciousness- Insecurity and fear of rejection; this trait can affect the writer's love life as well as their work life 
  • Stubbornness- The fear of being wrong and not able to let go of the idea that someone else is right
  • Deliberateness- The fear of making a mistake; the need to deliberate to think things through in order to not make a mistake
  • Fear of Success- A subconscious fear of being successful. The writer with this trait may unknowingly sabotage their work life, love life, etc
  • Resignation- Not being happy or content after "success" is reached; feelings of "dejection"
  • Procrastination- The fear of change or a fear of what will happen when the tasks are completed 
  • Fear of the Future- Having a fear of what has yet to come

Ego:

  • Goals/Self-Worth- How high a person's self-esteem is relates to how high they will set their personal goals and standards. Does the writer have high goals, low goals, average goals or are they a "dreamer"?
  • Ego Strength- How much importance does the writer place on their self and how much do they need their ego "stroked"
  • Signature vs. Handwriting- What does it mean when they are similar or different
  • Need for Approval- This will show if the writer needs to have approval by their peers or if they only need their own self approval
  • Desire to be Different- The need to be seen as "different" (ie. special or unique) from most other people
  • Self-Critical- Indicates that the writer is too hard on their self

Drives:

  • Enthusiasm- How much excitement the writer shows; the excitement and energy the writer expresses (can intensify "good" or "bad" traits)
  • Persistence- The more persistence shown, the more persistent the writer will be to reach their goals
  • Determination- When found, this shows the writer's intention to reach their goals
  • Ambition- When found, this shows the writer's desire to reach their goals
  • Aggressiveness- When found, this indicates the writer's force in their interactions with others in order to reach their goals; assertive
  • Desire to Acquire- Depending on where this trait is found, it can indicate a desire to acquire knowledge or material things
  • Desire for Responsibility- The desire to be in a position of authority (such as manager, supervisor, etc); to be looked up to or "in charge"
  • Self-Reliance/Leadership Ability- Indicates having the inner strength to lead others or be a leader in their industry
